Australia's first community sponsorship program

Launched in mid 2022, the Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot (CRISP) gives groups of locals the opportunity to welcome refugees into their community, supporting them from day one of their Australian journey. The federal government partnered with CRSA in the design and delivery of the program, which will aim to support 1,500 refugees over four years.

The CRISP was originally due to run until June 2025. However, the government has earmarked a further $1 million in funding to enable the pilot to continue to at least June 2026. CRSA, along with other organisations and individuals, are advocating for the pilot to transition into a permanent program, with strong hopes of achieving this outcome given the success of the program to date.
